Bicolano Human Resource Management Practitioners (HRMPs) in the public sector, heads of agencies, and elective officials gathered together in Tagaytay City for the annual Regional Convention of HRMPs on May 23-24, 2018.
Now on its 8th year, the two-day event which was organized by the Civil Service Commission Regional Office V’s Human Resource Division, was designed to provide participants with fresh insights and trends in HRM Practices; Organizational Development; and, Leadership and Good Governance. With the theme Developing Strategic Partners in the Workplace, the event featured plenary learning sessions handled by highly qualified and esteemed Subject Matter Experts in the field.
The first day featured the topic: The Leadership Challenge which was handled by Mr. Audi Masigan, Chief Operating Officer of Peoplesparx Inc. In this session, participants were introduced to the “Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership” developed by Kouzes and Posner. The afternoon session was facilitated by Mr. Gary Zaldy V. Galvez, Training and Development Director of Fellowship of Christians in Government, with the topic, Organization Transformation through Values Formation.
The second day included discussions on the topics Procurement in the Public Sector and Promoting Work-Life Harmony in the Workplace, handled by Atty. Dennis S. Santiago, Executive Director of the Government Procurement Policy Board and Atty. Daisy P. Bragais, Assistant Regional Director of the CSC RO V, respectively.
Also occasioned in the event was the awarding of PRIME-HRM Bronze accreditation to the Department of Trade and Industry Regional Office V; The Legazpi City Water District and the Camarines Norte State College. DTI-RO5 Director Jocelyn Lb. Blanco; General Manager Lourdes Bien of LCWD; and, Administrative Officer Eloisa Lucban of CNSC shared their PRIME-HRM journey in a short talk-show hosted by Mr. Christian C. Antiquiera and Ms. Lynbee S. Navio of the CSC RO V’s Human Resource Division and Policies and Systems Evaluation Division, respectively. The event was wrapped up with an integration by Ms. Zarah Z. Arroyo.
The Regional Convention of HRMPs is an annual undertaking of the Civil Service Commission RO V which aims to harness excellence in human resource management practice through quality learning and development interventions.
