“For the Civil Service Commission – Regional Office 1, March 8, 2018 marks two milestones. Today, we see the Eastern Pangasinan (Urdaneta) Field Office building being inaugurated. That means, all the five (5) Field Office buildings in the Ilocos Region finally completed”, said Director IV Hedy Jose B. Lardizabal, taking pride in the office’s exceptional achievement being the first CSC Regional Office to have all its Field Office buildings constructed.
Around ninety officials and representatives from various LGUs, LWDs, NGAs, and SUC/LCU in Eastern Pangasinan came to witness the Blessing and Inauguration of the new field office building located at the Gracia Village, Brgy. Nancayasan, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan. The 2-storey building is erected in a 204.75 sqm lot which has been leased by the City Government of Urdaneta to the Commission for 50 years in the amount of PhP 1.00 per year.
CSC Chairperson Alicia dela Rosa-Bala, Urdaneta City Mayor Amadeo Gregorio E. Perez, IV, and CSC RO1 Director Lardizabal led the ribbon cutting and the marker unveiling, with the assistance of CSC Eastern Pangasinan (Urdaneta) Field Office Director II Rogelio T. del Rosario.
In her speech, Chairperson Bala likened the level of excitement felt by the CSC Eastern Pangasinan Field Office staff to that of the members of a household, who, after the construction of their “home” and the completion of its amenities, are ecstatic and exhilarated, and are now more motivated to work. Former CSC Commissioner Atty. Robert S. Martinez, who was also present, expressed the same excitement for CSC RO1 and the Urdaneta Field Office, as he was the one who led the groundbreaking in 2016.
As a gesture of gratitude, Director Lardizabal, OIC Director III Violeta Nipal-Mendoza and Dir. del Rosario accorded Plaques of Appreciation to the following officials and offices that contributed in the construction of the new field office building, namely, Chairperson dela Rosa-Bala, Commissioner Leopoldo Roberto W. Valderosa, Jr., Atty. Martinez, Mayor Perez, DPWH-3rd Pangasinan District Engineering Office, Pangasinan State University-Urdaneta City Campus, and the Eastern Pangasinan Council of Personnel Officers.
Director del Rosario also thanked all heads of offices as well as the members and officials, past and present, of the Eastern Pangasinan Council of Personnel Officers (EPCPO) who shared their time, effort and resources in the construction of the office as well as in making the inauguration successful. He also took time to give flowers to all women present during the event, which coincided with the International Women’s Day.
