The Civil Service Commission (CSC) recently launched its own TikTok channel to reach out to the younger segment of the population needing information about its programs, policies, and services.
The channel, with the handle @civilservicegovph, has garnered more than 13,000 followers since it started last 30 January 2023.
Among others, it regularly posts cuts of “CSC in Action”, its newest weekly segment on PTV hosted by CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles. One of the videos, posted on 9 February featuring the schedule of civil service examinations this year, has already garnered more than 541,000 views.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) entered into a new agreement with the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) on the scholarship program named Pamanang Lingkod-Bayan Iskolarsyip today, 23 February 2023, at the CSC Central Office, Quezon City.
As part of the incentives under the Pamanang Lingkod Bayani (PLBi) Program of the CSC, Pamanang Lingkod-Bayan Iskolarsyip shall be given to the immediate family members of the civilian public official or employee who was killed in the line of duty or has died in the dedicated performance or pursuit of his/her official duties and responsibilities or functions as a civil servant. Immediate family members refer to the spouse, and legitimate and illegitimate children of the married deceased public officer or employee. If the marital status is single, members shall refer to a niece or nephew receiving support from the deceased public officer or employee.
“Dahil sa PLBi Program ng CSC, nabibigyan natin ng karampatang pagkilala at pagpupugay ang mga kapwa lingkod bayan na nagbuwis ng kanilang buhay alang-alang sa serbisyo publiko. Napaaabot din natin ang malasakit para sa kanilang mga naiwang kaanak sa pamamagitan ng tulong pinansyal. Nagpapasalamat din kami sa PASUC, sa pangunguna ni President Tirso Ronquillo, dahil patuloy nating nabibigyan ng scholarship grants ang mga beneficiaries ng ating PLBi Program,” said CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles during the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with PASUC and Batangas State University President Dr. Ronquillo.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) enjoined all government agencies to use the Philippine Tropical Fabrics (PTF) for employee uniform as a way to instill patriotism and nationalism among public officials and employees.
“We encourage all government agencies to promote the use of local fabrics and textiles by using them as base materials in the uniforms of officials and employees. This is in compliance with Republic Act (RA) No. 9242,” urged CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles.
Under Section 3 of RA No. 9242, entitled "An Act Prescribing the Use of Philippine Tropical Fabrics for Uniforms of Public Officials and Employees and for Other Purposes", the use of PTF is prescribed for official uniforms of government officials and employees, and for other purposes that require the use of fabrics in government offices and functions.

To ensure a healthy and productive workforce, mental and physical fitness programs are needed to promote employee well-being—this was stressed by Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Karlo Nograles.
Under CSC Resolution No. 1901265 or the Guidelines on the Development of Mental Health Program (MHP) in the Public Sector promulgated on 23 October 2019, and circularized via CSC Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 4, s. 2020, government agencies are mandated to craft and implement a Mental Health Program to promote overall mental wellness and provide an inclusive, conducive, and supportive work environment for public officials and employees. Said resolution is anchored on Republic Act No. 11036 or the Mental Health Act of 2018.
From a model MHP created by the CSC, strategies to promote employee well-being include the conduct of activities such as physical fitness, teambuilding, regular stress management, organized peer counseling, support groups, and interest groups. There is also a need to organize continuing mental health awareness and education activities for the agency’s workforce.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is inviting all government workers to join its free online orientation on Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) on 2 March 2023 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
Said public webinar aims to educate public officials and employees with the guidelines on properly filling out the SALN form and other CSC issuances on the SALN. It also intends to provide a better understanding on the basis by which the SALN rules are being required of all public officials and employees.
The orientation will be delivered via Zoom webinar, and while the registration to the webinar is already closed, government officials and employees may watch the livestream via the CSC Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/civilservicegovph. Registration should be made through this link.
