Stories of servant-heroes need to be told.

This is the concept behind the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) Kwentong Lingkod Bayani, one of the activities for the 120th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary this September 2020.

The CSC is calling on government agencies, government workers, beneficiary groups, and/or the general public to send stories about government workers and their extraordinary service during times of calamities.

The stories should be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by 30 September 2020 for a chance to be featured at any of CSC’s communication channels.

Extra mile

Stories to be submitted must highlight the extraordinary service of government workers rendered from September 2019 to 30 June 2020. During this period, the country met with a number of crisis situations such as typhoons, the Taal volcano eruption, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

If the service performed is above and beyond the employee’s task or job function, it must be an act that has helped fill in gaps in government response or service during calamities. However, if the service performed is part of the employee’s task or job function, it must have been undertaken under extreme circumstances, which resulted in the delivery of the mandated function of the agency despite great adversity during calamities.

Those interested to submit such stories must include the complete name, position title, name of agency and its contact details, and status of employment of the government employee being featured. The narrative must not be more than 250 words, and should be accompanied by relevant or related photos with the appropriate caption. Participants must submit the stories along with their complete name and contact information.
