More than 2,300 human resource (HR) practitioners are set to learn, discuss, and collaborate in the largest HR learning event for the government service, the 2018 Public Sector Human Resource Symposium, slated on July 18 to 20, 2018 in Davao City.

With the theme, “Achieving Breakthrough Results through Strategic HR”, the event will highlight concepts, perspectives, and insights in achieving breakthrough results that impact agency operations and delivery of excellent public service. It will also showcase and benchmark best practices and experiences of progressive organizations in achieving and pursuing continuous improvements.

Plenary speakers include international experts Phil Smithson, Managing Director of On-Off Group to talk about Design Thinking; Dr. Murli Viswanathan of Carnegie Mellon University, Australia to discuss Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Technologies for HR; and Dr. Jaclyn Lee, Senior Director, HR Resources and Data Analytics of Singapore University of Technology and Design to tackle HR Digital Strategy in the Workplace.

There are around 20 concurrent sessions prepared by local and international speakers from the public and private sector. Speakers include Dr. Shawkat Alam, Macquarie University, Australia; Michelle Garcia, President of People Management Association of the Philippines; Federico Marquez Jr., Senior Vice President and Head, Human Resources of St. Luke’s Medical Center; and Carla Lanza, First Vice President and Group Head of Voyager Innovations, Inc.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has been conducting the Public Sector HR Symposium since 2013. It served as a venue to discuss new trends and share best practices on HR and OD. This annual event is attended  by  leaders and  human  resource  practitioners  from  government  agencies  nationwide  and  some  ASEAN  countries. ###
