The Civil Service Commission (CSC), through the Civil Service Institute (CSI), is inviting 3,000 government leaders, managers, supervisors, and human resource (HR) practitioners to attend this year’s virtual Public Sector HR Symposium on 15 to 17 September 2021.

Themed Transforming Government Agencies Into Smart Organizations: Honing Resilient and Future-Ready Public Servants, this year’s symposium will focus on the strategic role of government leaders and HR practitioners in transforming government agencies into smart organizations, especially amid the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to adapt to emerging technologies.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) reminded government agencies to submit the collated 2020 Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) to the proper repository agency until 30 July.

Physical or electronic submission to the repository agencies is allowed for the 2020 SALNs, this according to CSC Resolution No. 2100339, circularized via Memorandum Circular No. 6, s. 2021, containing guidelines for the filing and submission of the SALN during exceptional circumstances.

As the nation celebrates its 123rd Independence Day this 12 June, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) cites the heroism of government frontliners who consistently perform their duties amid the risks brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

CSC Chairperson Alicia dela Rosa-Bala said that the Independence Day is a day of celebration and recollection of the service and sacrifices of our country’s heroes, which include state workers, whether in the public health or in other fields, who serve as essential staff or frontliners for their respective offices.

Information and communications technology (ICT) professionals may apply for Electronic Data Processing Specialist Eligibility (EDPSE), which they may use in vying for permanent appointment to functionally related positions in government.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) grants the EDPSE to passers of the ICT Specialist Proficiency Examination or of training courses on Systems Analysis and Design and Computer Programming conducted by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

The Civil Service Commission family joins hands in praying for the repose of the soul of former CSC Commissioner Robert “Doc” Santiago Martinez and for strength for his family in these trying times.

Com Doc, as he is fondly referred to, passed on today, 27 May 2021.

He was appointed as CSC Commissioner in July 2012 and ended his term in February 2018.
