Close to 2,500 HR professionals from government, the private sector, and member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will attend the event. With the theme, “Achieving Breakthrough Results through Strategic HR,” this year’s plenary and concurrent sessions highlight concepts, perspectives, and insights in achieving breakthrough results that impact agency operations and delivery of excellent public service.

Renowned business consultant, sought-after motivational speaker, best-selling author, and life and financial coach, Victorino F. Garcia will hold a World Café, a large group dialogue aimed at engaging participants in sharing their organization’s best HR management practices.

More than 30 speakers will share their expertise in human resource management, impart strategies on effectively measuring desired results, and monitor and evaluate accomplishments at various levels in the organization.

CSC Chairperson Alicia dela Rosa-Bala said that it is important to come up with venues for capacity-building programs to enhance the professional standards and capability of civil servants, especially in the area of HR management. “The holding of the Human Resource Symposium is part of our commitment in the ASEAN Leaders Declaration on the Role of the Civil Service as a Catalyst for Achieving ASEAN Community Vision 2025. This agreement, signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, underscores the importance of the civil service in driving national and social development and in providing vital services to the peoples of ASEAN,” added Chairperson Bala.

Another highlight of the 2018 HR Symposium is an exhibit of tourism, information and social services of the cities of Davao and Tagum, and the Provincial Governments of Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley. Leading human resource companies nationwide will also showcase their knowledge products and expertise. ###
